Installed flooring across Ocean and Monmouth County typically runs $4–$14 per square foot — luxury vinyl plank at the low end, engineered and solid hardwood in the middle, porcelain tile at the top once subfloor prep and setting are counted. The right number depends on the material, the condition of what’s underneath, and how many transitions and stairs the job includes. Your free estimate itemizes it room by room.
Coastal homes need moisture-smart floors
Solid hardwood is beautiful, but a humid bayfront or barrier-island home can cup and gap it within a season. That’s why we lead with waterproof luxury vinyl plank near the water and reserve solid hardwood for drier, elevated interiors. Matching the floor to the room’s real moisture risk is the difference between a floor that looks new in ten years and one you replace in three.
What every Paragon flooring install includes
Subfloor inspection and leveling — the step that decides whether a floor stays tight or telegraphs every dip
Moisture check on slabs and crawl-space-adjacent rooms before anything goes down
Material acclimation built into the schedule for wood products
Precise cuts at walls, transitions, and stairs — no gapped thresholds
New underlayment where the product and subfloor call for it
Trim, quarter-round, and transition strips finished clean
Old-flooring tear-out and haul-away on request
Room-by-room cleanup as we go
Pair it with the rest of the project
New floors land best alongside the rest of a refresh. If you’re already planning a kitchen or bathroom remodel, doing the flooring in the same phase saves on transitions and mobilization — and financing lets you do it right in one pass instead of one room a year.
Why homeowners choose Paragon
Family-run, licensed (NJ HIC #13VH13814500), and quoted in writing. We prep subfloors properly, acclimate wood the way it needs, and won’t float a floor over a subfloor that should be repaired first. The floor you walk on for the next decade is worth doing once.

Installed flooring in Ocean and Monmouth County typically runs $4–$14 per square foot depending on material: luxury vinyl plank at the lower end, engineered and solid hardwood in the middle, and porcelain tile at the top once you factor subfloor prep and setting. Stairs, transitions, and subfloor leveling add cost. Your free estimate breaks it out by room.
What is the best flooring for a Jersey Shore home?
For homes near the water, waterproof luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is usually the smartest choice — it handles humidity, occasional flooding, and sandy foot traffic without cupping the way solid hardwood can. Engineered hardwood is a good middle ground for elevated homes, and porcelain tile is ideal for entries and baths. We match the material to the room and the moisture risk.
Can you install flooring over my existing floor?
Sometimes. Luxury vinyl and some engineered products can float over a flat, sound existing floor, which saves demolition cost. But if the subfloor is uneven, water-damaged, or the existing floor is failing, going over it just hides a problem. We check the subfloor first and tell you honestly whether an overlay or a tear-out is the right call.
How long does a flooring installation take?
A single room is often a one-day job; a full main floor typically runs two to four days including subfloor prep, acclimation of the material, and trim. Tile takes longer because of setting and grout cure time. We give you a room-by-room schedule up front.
Do I need to acclimate hardwood before installation?
Yes — solid and engineered wood should sit in the room for several days so it reaches the home’s humidity before it is nailed or glued down. Skipping acclimation is the single most common cause of gaps and cupping later, especially in humid shore homes. We build that step into the schedule rather than rushing it.
